If you follow me on Instagram, then you've noticed in my stories that I recently got into SoulCycle. I know, I know, it took me a while! I used to dread spin class, but once bit by the bug, I shortly became addicted. How much fun is dancing on a bike? Who knew! As a cardio compliment to my regular barre and yoga classes, it's now part of my fitness regimen. Of course, I love how inspirational and motivational the instructors are during class. Here are the top five lessons I learned at Soul so far... Enjoy!
The Truth Behind the Biggest Meditation Misconception
Despite popular belief, the goal of meditation is not to clear the mind. Surprised? I can't tell you how many times I've been asked about meditation and people say, "I could never do it, because I could never erase my mind." Obviously! I don't think it's humanly possible to clear your mind, which is good news, because meditation then, may just be for you.
Soul Candy: Help for the Homeless
It's been insanely cold out this winter and I always provide the homeless in my area with what I can to keep them as warm as possible, but the thought of them being out in the cold on frigid days and nights never leaves my mind. I noticed my friend April shared the news that her sister Jamie Marie and her boyfriend Anthony Pierro assembled and handed out care packages to homeless individuals in freezing cold New York City earlier this year and was touched. I reached out to Anthony to find out more about his experience and he shared this touching video.

The Happiness Formula
I just booked a trip to LA and am beyond excited to get back out there. The excitement and happiness I feel when on the West Coast doesn't compare to my day-to-day in NYC. There's just something about the sunshine. However, I found a formula by Deepak Chopra, MD that explains how you can take charge of your happiness. Even on cold, wintery NYC days. Check it out.

Soul Candy: The 'Unadoptable' Cat
I'm picking up the Soul Candy series again and to kick off the new year, I thought I'd tell you about a very special story that touched my life personally. I volunteer at the Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City and often find myself in the cattery cleaning cat cages and making friends with all of them as I go. Nothing makes me happier than helping at the shelter. Throughout the past few months, I took special notice to one cat in particular named Pepper who thanks to her age, spots of missing hair and cone around her neck, seemed what some would say, "unadoptable."
The #1 Way I Take Time to Slow Down
If you've been reading my blog for a long time, then you watched my life and content evolve throughout the years and are right there with me. Can you believe I've been doing this for eight years? As I became more wellness minded in my personal life, my definition of beauty changed and content shifted to a place of raw authenticity that I'm proud to share with you. Today, I'm excited to announce that I've partnered with Rituals, the number one selling bath and body line in Europe that's rapidly making its mark in the US. Truthfully, if I could create my own beauty brand, I would follow the same formula – putting wellness first and (what we think of as) beauty second.
