You know it – the legendary pink and green mascara tube that's been selling out on store shelves since 1971. That's Maybelline Great Lash. Now, 40 years later, it's America's best selling mascara with a tube being sold every 1.7 seconds. No lie.
To celebrate it's anniversary, the brand partnered with top designers – Max Azria, Tracy Reese and Vivienne Tam to design a limited edition collection. Since Maybelline sponsors New York Fashion Week, it was a natural fit. Each designer created a black graphic print unique to their brand on the pink tube and sealed it with their signatures. My favorite – Max Azria's (obvi) it's a sexier black lace pattern.

I have to admit, I was more excited to check out the bandage dresses that I'll never be able to afford than the hair and make up at the Herve Leger show. Inspired by Marie Antoinette I found myself swooning (as expected) over the Spring/Summer 2011 collection.
So yes, hair and makeup for me was thrown out the window, but I was curious about something else. How can one make their bod look as hot as possible in one of these body hugging minis? The answer was not far behind thanks to Temptu makeup artist Lisa. I noticed she was airbrushing the models skin, arms, declote and legs with foundation to cover up any marks on the skin and a highlighter to give an overall glow for the cameras. Don't have an airbrush? She suggests using coconut oil to add a sheen to your bod.
As WWD reported today, "the circus is in town," only this one includes models, celebrities and fashionistas! And don't forget the journalists. That's right, I'll be backstage reporting on the hottest hair, makeup and nail trends for over 20 of this September's Spring/Summer 2011 shows.
But I won't be doing it alone, my BeautySweetSpot.com intern, Carly Nelson will be joining as well as my intern from last spring, Jasmine Dilmanian. They're both fab writers and ready to stiletto stomp into the new tents of Lincoln Center and beyond.
